Arcadia, ZAO sponsors the VIII Baltic Science and Engineering Fair which takes place in St. Petersburg State University on January 31 — February 3, 2012. 328 schoolchildren present their own scientific researches: 269 research works in natural and exact sciences (math, physics, chemistry, computer science, engineering) as well as history. On Friday Dec. 16, members of the RUSSOFT association joined friends, colleagues and other well-wishers at the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce to mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Russian software development industry.

1991 was a starting point for a number of new type of businesses in Russia: export-oriented, high-tech companies daring to compete with world IT leaders.

The founder of Arcadia, ZAO, Arcady Khotin, also commented in an interview for SPBIT.ru:

Of course, 20 years is a significant date… From those companies which started in 1991 — it's possible that some of them would be less successful if we wouldn’t join our efforts: first, it was “Fort-Ross” (since 1999), then — “RUSSOFT”.

Svetlana Kazanskaya , Director for Business Development at Arcadia, ZAO, made a report at 6th International Conference on Global Software Engineering: “Human Behaviors in Distributed Development Environments”. In this report, Svetlana gave short overview of different aspects of cross-sultural and personal differences and shared some real situations from Arcadia’s experience.

Pavel Voronov, a project manager at Arcadia, ZAO, made a presentation on Application Developer Days Conference (April 29-30, 2011 in St. Petersburg, Russia). He shared his vision of problems and solutions in the area of software packaging for Windows Platform.

Arcadia, ZAO and finalSoft, GmbH agreed on collaboration in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). Through this partnership, Arcadia is going to further promote it's custom software development services on European market.

Arcadia, ZAO summed up the results of 2010: stable financial situation, prolonged contracts with main clients, a number of successful custom software development projects with new clients and a new vertical expertise — insurance automation.

It has become a tradition in Arcadia to meet the coming year with dancing and singing, and the 2011 was not an exception. Far from the office and computers, the whole Arcadia's team (plus some of spouses and children) gathered to celebrate the coming holidays. They all danced, singed and joked about the most important things in their lives: software development projects.
