, Director for Business Development at Arcadia, ZAO, made a report at 6th International Conference on Global Software Engineering: “Human Behaviors in Distributed Development Environments”. In this report, Svetlana spoke about challenges and problems occurring in cross-cultural distributed teams:
- What causes misunderstandings?
- How to cope with arising problems and to prevent them in future?
- What good sides can be found in cross-cultural differences?
After giving short overview of different aspects of cross-sultural and personal differences, Svetlana shared some real situations from Arcadia’s experience. Now they look rather funny (laughter in the auditory confirmed that), but in real life they could lead to serious conflicts and/or failure to meet contractual liabilities. Arcadia successfully solved these cross-cultural issues: that is proven by continuing collaboration with the clients.
