"You can't stick Byron's head in your laptop!" – exclaimed one of the characters of a play "Arcadia" by Tom Stoppard. Despite this statement, a team of software developers and web designers from our enterprise – a namesake of Stoppard’s drama – made up their mind to solve the same innovative and literary problem with respect to their great compatriot A. S. Pushkin.
In other words Arcadia signed another agreement (in full force for the year of 2006) with Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communications (FAPMC), concerning the cooperative financing of a project – Institute of Russian Literature (Pushkin House) web-portal. “Sticking” all the text and graphic material in electronic form and representing it on-line was not a mere contribution to prestige conditions (for instance, the Hermitage and the National Library of Russia having launched their web-sites), but a momentous step in systematizing and arranging the enormous cultural legacy.
This implementation of high technology in the intellectual academic field appeared to satisfy Arcadian inner requirements for cooperation within Russian scientific projects. Willingly accepting the challenge of social responsibility, the company extends its interaction with domestic cultural organizations and helps to modernize their research basis.
