Problem
The client had a custom Electronic Documents Management system wiseSuite (developed by Arcadia) which served the business processes in the client's core business — title insurance. As a considerable part of work done by client's employees is connected with working out of the office (meeting with clients, etc.), the client also needed a mobile application to give convenient access for employees to the database of orders and documents. Besides, in a number of cases a limited access to the documents can be given to the Client's customers.
Solution
Arcadian team developed native mobile applications, wiseView Mobile, for iPhone/iPad, Android and Windows Phone 7 with access to the wiseSuite database (MS SQL Server) through SOAP web service using HTTP GET and HTTP POST requests. WiseView Mobile allows the users to view, access and manage transactions through their smartphones and iPads.
wiseView Mobile features include:
- logging into the system
- searching in the user's orders
- viewing summary of order details
- managing order documents (viewing transactions for the current order, preview, adding comments to the document, viewing history of comments, distributing via e-mail, viewing history of distribution)
- correspondence (adding notes to the order, viewing history of notes)
- using Google Maps for address display
- using Phone Contacts Manager for sending distributions to the remote document storage
- user-friendly interface: expanding/shrinking text fields for better view when the users rotates the device; displaying additional information in side panes when the user accesses application from iPad, etc.
